Ingredients
1
plain homemade or store-bought cheesecake
3
apples
chopped (I like a mixed variety)
1
TBS
butter
¼
cup
brown sugar
½
teaspoon
cinnamon
Pinch
of nutmeg
Splash of vanilla
Squeeze of fresh lemon
1
teaspoon
cornstarch
Instructions
In a saute pan, melt your butter. Add in the apple pieces and toss.
Add in the sugar, spices, vanilla and lemon, stir to coat.
Once the mixture bubbles, add in the cornstarch and mix until incorporated and mixture begins to thicken.
Once apples are done to your liking (5-6 minutes), remove from heat. Let stand for a few minutes then top the cheesecake with them.
Feel free to drizzle with caramel if you have it on-hand or feel like making some.
Enjoy!
I like the apples warm over-top, however you can also enjoy them at room temperature.
Notes
I like leaving the peels on for this, so I use a variety of red and green apples. It's up to you if you choose to peel them. Works either way!
