Hot Honey Sweet Potatoes have amazing flavor, are easier to make vs the traditional candied sweet potatoes and have less butter and sugar. The flavor and texture of these roasted sweet potatoes is amazing!

Ingredients

  • 3 large sweet potatoes lightly scrubbed and dried, skin on, cut into wedges
  • ¼ cup avocado or olive oil
  • 2 TBS garlic powder
  • S & P
  • 2 TBS butter
  • 1 cup honey
  • 2 TBS hot sauce
  • 1 TBS chopped fresh parsley or snipped chives for garnish optional
  • 1 teaspoon spiced sugar (see notes)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  • Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the sweet potato wedges in a large bowl with the oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and toss to coat.
  • Place the sweet potato wedges to the prepared baking sheet. Bake, flipping halfway through, for 35-40 minutes, or until the wedges are golden-brown and crispy.
  • Mix the honey and hot sauce in a ramekin or small bowl, taste and adjust to your preference.

Notes

Sprinkling a teaspoon or so of my Spiced Sugar (click here) overtop before roasting gives this a lovely spiced flavor and helps it caramelize in spots. You could also just sprinkle some cinnamon sugar overtop.
Nutritional calculation does not include S&P. It DOES include the suggestion of the spiced sugar.
