Ingredients

  • 8 oz boiling water more or less
  • 6 fresh basil leaves (or more) I like 6-8 leaves
  • ½ TBS honey more or less

Instructions

  • Place fresh basil leaves in your mug. Pour boiling water in. Allow to steep 3-5 minutes.
  • Add honey and stir.
  • Remove basil leaves (or leave them in) and sip away.

Notes

The more basil you use the more intense the flavor. Some leaves may brown in spots after steeping. Choose to leave leaves in or remove.
You can also pack leaves into a tea infuser.
You may feel a little tingle on your tongue as you enjoy the tea, similar to what mint does.
You can also make this in larger batches and enjoy cold over ice. If doing that add in more fresh basil leaves for a more intense flavor as the added ice will dilute the flavor.
