Butter Toffee Pretzels

This easy Toffee Pretzels recipe is everyone's favorite! Call this Butter Toffee Pretzels or Sweet and Spicy Pretzels, just make them They make a fabulous food gift idea, cookie tray addition, cheeseboard item, and everyday snack!

- 1 bag pretzels (mini or snap pretzels work best) 16 to 19 ounces
- 1 cup melted butter
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 3 TBS bourbon (or 1 TBS vanilla)
- 2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon red (cayenne) pepper or more
Combine everything but the pretzels in a large mixing bowl and stir until fully incorporated.
Add pretzels to the bowl and toss until they are all coated.
Place pretzels onto 2 parchment paper lined baking sheets and bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes, stirring a couple times as they bake. Also rotate the trays.
After 20-25 minutes, pretzels will have absorbs most of the liquid. Remove from oven, and allow to cool completely.
Some pretzels will stick together (they are my favorites).
Once fully cooled, keep in an air-tight container like a large mason jar or gallon bag until ready to enjoy.
For a harder crunchier pretzel, first place the pretzels onto 2 parchment paper lined baking sheets and bake at 300 degrees F for 15 minutes.
Feel free to halve this recipe as it does make a lot. If making a whole batch, I store in 2 separate large mason jars (or containers) so as I go in and snack the other half remains airtight keeping them fresher for longer.

Or use simple bags like these or these. They are super cost-effective especially if giving to co-workers or bringing to cookie swaps.
