Equipment

  • Grill

Ingredients

  • ½ cup olive oil or avocado oil
  • ½ cup low sodium soy sauce (or regular)
  • 5 TBS Cajun seasoning See notes
  • ¼ cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 TBS minced or grated fresh ginger or ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons mustard powder
  • 6 shakes Tabasco (or more for more heat)
  • 2 pounds large shrimp 21-25 or 16-20

Instructions

  • Combine all marinade ingredients in a large bowl. Whisk until combined.
  • Taste it to see if you'd enjoy it spicier. If so add in 5-6 more shakes of Tabasco or even a little cayenne pepper.
  • Add in your raw, cleaned shrimp (tails removed)
  • Toss well. Place in fridge for 30-60 minutes. Not for more than an hour.
  • When ready to cook. Make sure your grill has been cleaned and oiled.
  • Preheat grill to high.
  • Thread shrimp onto meatal (or soaked wood) skewers. Place them onto a baking sheet as you do for easy transport. Discard marinade.
  • Grill for 2-3 minutes per side until done (cook time will depend on grill as well as shrimp size).
  • Remember tray used needs to be cleaned and dried before placing cooked spicy shrimp skewers back onto it.
  • Enjoy!
