Whipped Ricotta Crostini with Candied Nuts is an elegant & easy appetizer recipe. Whipped ricotta can be made sweet or savory. Crostini with ricotta is delicous!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup candied nuts, chopped more or less.
  • 2 loaves french bread
  • 8 oz fresh ricotta
  • 2 TBS honey
  • Honey for drizzling
  • Thyme optional for garnish

Instructions

  • Purchase candied nuts or make them, see notes below for recipe link.
  • Use purchased crostini or slice French bread into crostini sized pieces. Line slices up on a baking sheet. Bake in a 350-degree oven until a little crisp (about 3-5 minutes (flipping halfway), longer if you want them really crisp).
  • In your mixing bowl, whip ricotta, and 2 TBS honey until fluffy, about 4 minutes.
  • When ready to assemble. Chop nuts into a crumble.
  • Slather each crostini with whipped ricotta, top with a sprinkle of nuts, Thyme (or lemon Thyme) if you choose to use an herb and a drizzle of honey.
  • Serve and enjoy!

If you make your own candied nuts, they can be made days ahead and stored in mason jars (once completely cool).
Crostini can be made ahead of time, cooled and stored in airtight container.
