This is a fun play on Deviled Eggs, this Giant Deviled Egg recipe is a great part appetizer and always gets the conversation going!

Many of us are planning what to serve or bring to Easter dinner, as well as how to decorate and add the extra touches that make our holidays memorable. This Giant Deviled Egg makes a fun and tasty appetizer that is also an edible Easter centerpiece that people will be talking about.
Many years ago, back in 2010, I attended my first in-person food blogger event which was a weekend long potluck, we came from all over. Many meeting another food blogger in person for the first time (boy how times have changed!!) - I made some friends, learned a few things and ate well!
Jackie Gordon brought a Giant Deviled Egg so we all brought a dish...SO fun). I have no clue what she called it, I actually didn't even taste it but the memory of the fun of it left an impression on me so I thought it would be a perfect thing to share for Easter!
Table of Contents
Ingredients
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Mayonnaise
- Dry mustard or Dijon mustard
- Salt and pepper
- Paprika
- Chives
- Crackers
Variations
- You can make this as a standard deviled egg recipe or get a little wild and add in ingredients like crumbled bacon, scallions, crispy pork belly, bacon jam, caviar salsa or whatever you dream up!
- Make it a little artistic and add "grass" on one side using chives.
This is such a fun Easter recipe. For Easter Brunch, Easter dinner or for using up leftover Easter Eggs.
Tips
- Assemble "egg" shortly before serving for best result. You don't want things to get dry.
- Prep ahead by making the hard boiled eggs in advance. Remove yolks and make your filling mixture. Store in a container and if necessary just before assembling add an extra dollop of mayo to freshen it up.
- Store chopped whites separately in a container, be gentle.
- Garnish just before serving.
- Serve with pita crisps, crostini, small fresh pita rounds or rye bread. Or use crackers, carrot sticks and celery. Whatever you feel you will enjoy.
Jackie has since discontinued her blog and IG or I would have tagged her.
This is a great recipe for leftover Easter Eggs. Put them to a tasty use!
I really don't think you need a recipe for this one, it's more of an idea. You can make a Giant Deviled Egg with 12 eggs or 6 dozen eggs, you decide. Make Deviled eggs the way you do or check out my guideline recipe below.
Hope you enjoy this fun Deviled Egg Dip!! XO Colleen

Giant Deviled Egg
Ingredients
- 12 large or extra large eggs
- ½ cup mayo more or less to your liking
- 1 tsp mustard (more or less to taste) dry mustard or a grainy Dijon like Grey Poupon Country Dijon
- S&P to taste
- dusting of paprika
- chives for garnish
Instructions
- Boil your eggs for 7-9 minutes depending on size and preference for yolk doneness.
- Immediately cool them off with cold water to stop the cooking process (no one like hard boiled eggs with a dark green rim on the yolks)
- When ready to make the deviled egg, peel the eggs and separate the yolk from the white.
- Place yolks into a bowl, mash with a fork or press through a sieve. Add the rest of the ingredients you enjoy for deviled eggs and set aside.
- Clean up the whites of the eggs and chop into somewhat uniform pieces.
- Using a cutting board or large oval or circular plate. place yolk mixture onto it, followed by the whites, surrounding the yolk mixture in an egg shape.
- Garnish with paprika, chives or whatever you might enjoy and serve along with crackers, small pita rounds, crostini, celery, carrot slices or whatever you enjoy.

Cool idea! I've seen deviled eggs where they "color" the whites before stuffing, THIS would look awesome with colored egg whites, almost like stained glass around the outside!!!
