Boozy Irish Cream & Oreo Shake
Grab a straw and get ready to par-tay...relax or just plain old treat yourself...however it is you want to view it! I don't know about you but peaceful moments that are all about me...are few and far between.
Small indulgences like this one , especially if I don't hear "MOOOM" while I am at it, are bliss!!
Speaking of the "MOM's" scattered about many of our daily lives. What's up with this?
My knuckleheads text me from their phone and ipod like this:
Mom
Mom
Mom
M
O
M
Yeah THAT is 6 separate texts...like I can HEAR them bellowing for me from their friends houses, or when I'm not home. I thinks it hilarious! Anyone else get this?
Remember the (Better Than The Original) Irish Cream Recipe I shared the other day?? As promised, here is the first treat to make with it, that is IF you can keep it around long enough to make something with it after you whip it up!
Why not add some Homemade Irish Cream to a milkshake and enjoy a decadent Boozy Irish Cream and Oreo Shake!
When I was testing this out, I gave one to my husband...just to sample...he gave the glass back empty and my man is a vanilla-milkshake-only-person! Score!!
If you are looking for a fun treat to enjoy and want to add a lil something something to it in the form of alcohol...do it! It is delicious!! And if you need to hide in a closet or bathtub to enjoy a moment of solitude...so be it!
Boozy Irish Cream & Oreo Shake
5-6 scoops (about 2 cups) mint chocolate chip ice cream (green or white)
3 Oreos
¾ cup Irish Cream
¼ cup milk
Optional Garnishes: Whipped cream, chocolate syrup, jimmies/sprinkles
Place all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth and creamy. Scrape it into a big ole glass, grab a straw and a spoon and enjoy!
Colleen's Notes: Feel free to add more or less Irish Cream to your shake, you can omit the milk altogether if you choose.
Making your own Irish Cream takes just 5 minutes and 6 ingredients...you will never want to taste the story bought stuff again!

OH my goodness that is so funny! I hear them saying mom when they aren't even calling me. I've got 3 kiddies and that's all I hear too, "MOM, momma, mommy, ma" and on and on it goes! One day we'll miss all those calling us nonstop though, right?
lol! That is so funny. My Italian friend was visiting w/her 2 yr old recently and she calls her mom: mamma. But she heard "mom" those days at our house, and started to call me MOM! So cute. Love the texts and love this boozy drink!
Ooh, that looks delicious! I also understand the constant "Mommy! Mommy!" but I think I'll miss it when I don't hear it any more.
My kids send me some pretty funny texts, too. It kind of makes my day. This shake looks like the perfect way to celebrate St. Paddy's' Day.
I think this would go down very smoothly. Thanks for the recipe. Linda @Crafts a la Mode
What a unique St. Patty's Day drink! Sure beats a shamrock shake:) My daughter actually texted me 8 times in a row the other day, and we were both in the same house! I feel your pain!
xoKathleen
Yeah, I'm gonna need one of these! Or two... 🙂
That is one delicious looking shake! I get the texts...but, what really cracks me up is the long mooooooooomeeeeee from someone in the shower that needs something!
I do that to my mom all the time. Did I mention I'm over 30??? lolol. These look sooo good. Surely pinning!!
Score one for mom! Now that's my kind of shake!
That will certainly shake things up! And of course you had me at boozy.
You had me at boozy! This is happening. Soon.
Can I come over and drink 10 of these? I have a feeling they taste amazing!
Yup, my two year old is now constantly "Mommy, let's play!" Can't play by herself anymore. Sure could use this as a pick me up!
I'd give the glass back empty too, then I'd ask for another one! LOL. This looks amazingly delicious!
Hahaha! Forget the Calgon--I'd rather have one of these milkshakes! I get texts like: mom? Mom? Mama? Are you there? Why aren't you answering your texts? Momomomomomomomomomomomomom! (All separate of course.) I can totally see myself hiding behind a locked door, in a hot bath, with one of these shakes.
I can't wait to make your soda bread. I would like to know you recipe for you Irish Cream if you would be willing to share it. please and thank you!
