Looking for BBQ Sides? I have a bunch of awesome tried and true BBQ Side Recipes for you to choose from. Nothing beats good party food or the compliments you get when you bring a dish everyone gets excited about.

I get excited when planning BBQ food ideas whether we are hosting or simply bringing a dish or two to family or friends. BBQ recipes are just so delicious and fun! BBQ calories don't count for me lol!

If you are looking for cookout side dishes for the season I've got plenty of ideas! Lets go!!

Cold Side Dishes

  • One side to rule them all! Potato Salad is the quintessential BBQ side dish! This Bacon Potato Salad is my absolute favorite! Been making it for decades and people always ask for the recipe!
  • Fresh and vibrant this Korean Carrot Salad is a fabulous addition to a cookout!
  • A Dense Bean Salad is filling and healthy. You have to balance out all of that BBQ goodness somehow lol! A great make ahead BBQ side dish.
  • This Asian Pasta Salad will make at least half of the people ask you for the recipe (really)! It's so pretty and it can actually be a main dish as well. If you want to keep it vegetarian, serve slices of the balsamic grilled chicken on the side.
  • Pretty and tasty, this Summer Pasta Salad goes with everything! Make it ahead of time and refresh with a little extra dressing just before serving.
  • Greek Orzo Salad is a summer side dish staple for me! Or a light meal on a warm day. Served cold, its refreshing! This side dish is always a big hit!
  • Make a platter of this Roasted Asparagus Caprese Salad. Its gorgeous and full of flavor. Assemble ahead of time and dress it just before serving. You can serve this cold or warm.
  • Spicy Cucumber Salad is inexpensive to make for a crowd (especially if you grow cucumbers). Another refreshing side dish for summer!

This vegetarian Asian Noodle Salad is my MOST requested BBQ Side Dish. Every type of party actually, everyone wants them! They are SO easy to make and even better, inexpensive to make for a crowd. These are a must try. They can be made ahead of time and refreshed with a little reserve dressing and they are served room temp making them a perfect outdoor dish!

Tip: When making a side dish for a BBQ that is cold, place the tray or bowl its in overtop another similar tray or bowl filled with ice to keep it chilled.

Hot BBQ Side Dishes

  • One of my favorite grilled BBQ side dish recipes is this Grilled Eggplant Caprese. It is a flavor explosion! Its a quick and easy grill once the ingredients are assembled. People rave about this one!
  • Grilled Potato Salad made famous by Bobby Flay years ago is different and delicious. It's easy to take the flavors where you want them to go.
  • Zucchini Cakes are always a surprise hit! The great thing is that you can cook them on the Blackstone or indoors, saving grill space. Enjoy as a side dish or as a vegetarian burger.
  • Spicy Grilled Mushrooms, done in a pan on the grill, are a burst of flavor. Great with burgers, grilled steak or grilled pork.
  • If you are growing snow peas or green beans, either of these quick and easy side dishes are a nice light addition to a BBQ. Skillet Green Beans or Snow Peas.
  • Grilled Avocado Caprese are a pretty, different and tasty addition to any barbecue menu.

Making Skillet Corn vs corn on the cob is a little more manageable for a barbecue with a lot of people. Prep the corn up to a day ahead of time and cook when ready. We love making Old Bay Skillet Corn however you can also keep it simple with just butter S&P. I also have a Mexican Street Corn Casserole for you to try.
